FAQ's

Nobody reads a flooring company's FAQ page for fun. You're here because you're about to spend real money on something you'll walk on every day for the next 10-20 years. You should ask hard questions before you do. Here are the ones we hear most, answered straight.

Why should I choose Wagner Floors?

Here are five reasons…

1) We Bring the Showroom to You.
Shop for new floors from the comfort of your home, without the hassle of running from store to store.

2) Zero Regrets Guarantee
You’ll love your new floors or we’ll replace them FREE.

3) Exact, No-Surprise Quotes
Most flooring businesses do “estimates.” Not us. Instead, you’ll get a guaranteed, written quote so you’ll know exactly what to expect before work begins.

4) Lifetime Installation Warranty
If there’s ever an installation issue, we fix it for the life of your floors. Period.

5) Installer Professionalism Guarantee
Our installers are trained through an extensive apprentice program by masters in the flooring industry. You’ll receive the highest-quality installation in the business, and they’ll leave your home as neat and clean as when they arrived!

All five of those exist for one reason.

So you end up with awesome floors, and getting them was easy. No hassle, no surprises, nothing left sitting on your plate.

Which leaves you the fun part. Picking a floor you love, and then living on it.

Do you charge for someone to come on-site for a measure and quote?

No. We provide a free, no-obligation in-home shopping experience called the Design Consultation. We bring the latest in flooring fashion directly to your home, and before your consultant leaves, you'll have a guaranteed, no-surprise quote in writing.

It isn't a measure-and-throw-out-a-number visit. Here's the truth almost nobody in this industry will tell you: most people who hate their new floor picked it in a showroom. Showroom lights lie. So we bring the samples to your house instead, into your light, next to your furniture, with your dog walking across them. What you see is what you'll actually be living with.

What exactly happens during a Design Consultation?

Your floors are the one thing in your house you touch every single day, in every room, for the next ten to twenty years. Get it right and the whole house lifts. Better light, rooms that look bigger, the furniture you already own suddenly looking like you planned it that way. Get it wrong and it's the first thing you see every morning, and it's expensive to undo.

That's why we take 60 to 90 minutes. This isn't a measuring appointment with a sales pitch attached. It's the hour and a half that decides whether you end up with a floor you settled for or one you'd pick all over again.

Here's exactly what happens.

First, you and your Design Consultant sit down together and go through some questions together. Traffic levels, pets, kids, how you actually live in each room, what you want the space to feel like, and when you'd like it finished. There are thousands of flooring options out there. Those questions are how you get from thousands down to the two or three that genuinely fit your house.

Then the samples come in. We bring the showroom with us, so you're looking at real material in your own light, against your own baseboards and your own furniture. A color that looks perfect under showroom fluorescents can look like a completely different floor in your living room. Better to find that out now than after it's installed.

Then we measure and inspect the rooms you're replacing, and get exact measurements. This is the step that makes the no-surprise quote possible. Skip it and every number after it is a guess.

Last, we go over pricing together, at your table, before we leave. Most flooring businesses do "estimates." Not us. You'll get a guaranteed, written, no-surprise quote, and the price we quote is the price you pay.

No charge, no obligation to buy anything.

How much do new floors cost?

We could throw a number at you right now. Every flooring company on the internet will. The problem is that the number would be fiction, because we haven't seen your subfloor, measured your rooms, or found out whether your hallway needs a transition.

What we can tell you is this. You'll know your exact price before we leave your house, it will be in writing, and it will not change. Financing is available if spreading it out makes more sense for you.

Can you explain your warranty?

Buying flooring is not like buying any other piece of interior décor, such as a sofa or a lamp. Why? Because unlike other products, flooring is installed or “manufactured” in your home. This makes the installation critical.

We offer a lifetime installation warranty at Wagner Floors. You NEVER have to worry about something going wrong with the installation. If it does, we’ll fix it for FREE!

See our 4X Guarantee for details.

Who actually does the installation?

Our installers are trained through an extensive apprentice program by masters in the flooring industry, and they have been with us for years. That is exactly why we can put a lifetime warranty on our installation. You cannot guarantee work for life when you do not know who is doing it.

It is also why we can promise they will treat your home the way we would want somebody treating our grandmother's, and leave it as neat and clean as when they arrived.

What types of flooring do you offer?

All of it.

  • Carpet
  • LVP – Luxury Vinyl Plank
  • LVT – Luxury Vinyl Tile
  • Engineered Hardwood
  • Hardwood
  • New – install; sand, stain and finish
  • Existing – Sand, stain and finish
  • Laminate
  • Linoleum
  • Cement Covering - Polyaspartic

That's the list. The list is not the decision.

Knowing you want vinyl plank is like knowing you want a car. It narrows nothing. The right floor for a house with three kids and a golden retriever is not the right floor for a retired couple with no pets, and it has almost nothing to do with which one looks best in a catalogue photo. Sorting that out is exactly what your Design Consultant is trained to do, and it's why the Design Consultation exists in the first place.

What if I only need one room?

That's fine. We do single rooms, staircases and whole houses.

A small job gets the same Design Consultation, the same exact quote, the same guarantees, and the same crews as a whole-home project.

How long does it take to complete a flooring project?

The average flooring project takes 3-5 days. The time of each project depends on multiple factors. Sometimes it takes longer and sometimes shorter, our Design Consultants can give a better idea of the project timeline when they are looking at it with you.

Do you move the furniture and haul away the old floor?

Yes to both, and both are in your quote before you agree to anything.

We move the furniture. We tear out the old flooring and haul it away. You do not rent a dumpster, you do not make a run to the dump, and you do not get a surprise line item after the fact.

Prefer to move your own furniture? You can, and we'll take that cost right back out of your quote.

This is what an exact, no-surprise quote actually means in practice. Everything the job requires is in the number you are given.

How do we prepare for install day?

We have installed over 8,000 floors, so we know exactly what makes install day go smoothly. Knock these out the night before and our crew can start the minute they walk in.

Please take all personal pictures, artwork etc. down from your walls. Hint: Bathtubs are great for storing these kinds of items

Please take all family keepsakes, electronics and computers off the top of your dressers, armoires etc.

If we are moving the furniture, please take the small, breakable, and irreplaceable things off of it first. We would rather not be the reason something got broken.

Closet floors must be free and clear. Any low hanging clothes, please place up higher

Beds – please disassemble headboards/footboards and bed frames. We will move the separate pieces.

If you order a baseboard package from us, we will have them delivered early if you wish to paint them prior to us installing them.

We will also give you a window of time for our arrival, and we will do everything we can to hit it. Construction can be unpredictable at times, so if an unavoidable delay occurs, we’re on the phone giving you a heads up.

Does Wagner Floors offer flooring repairs?

Wagner stands behind every floor Wagner installs, for life. What Wagner does not do is take on repair of someone else’s installation.

However, we do offer carpet re-stretching and wood refinishing. Call us for details.

If we have already purchased our flooring, will you still install it?

Yes.

One condition. One of our pros has to come measure in person first. We do not quote installation over the phone. A number given sight unseen is a guess, and guesses are how people end up with a final bill that does not match what they were told.

Are you associated with Floors-N-24?

Yes. In 2022 we changed the name from Floors-N-24 to Wagner Floors, because by then it had become Mark and Kelly’s family business and the name should say so.

Same family. Same crews. Same standards.
